Programme
The brief
Residents wanted the paths usable after sunset; the community association wanted no light entering ground-floor windows along the boundary.
Our approach
Fully shielded bollards with zero upward output, spaced by calculation rather than by habit, and set back from the boundary edge. Vertical illuminance was checked for facial recognition distance, which is the metric that actually determines whether a path feels safe.
The outcome
Reported evening use of the paths rose substantially, with no boundary spill complaints since commissioning.

Most projects start with a plan and a conversation about how the space should feel. That is enough for us to be useful.
